What Do the Friends Do?
  • Sponsor the summer reading program for children
  • Provide funding for the Lucky Day books
  • Help fund special programming for children and adults
  • Purchase resources and equipment to support the library
  • Sponsor author talks
  • Help fund the adult winter reading program
  • Hold two used book sales per year
  • Operate a used book store all year
  • Participation in community events such as Nickle Dickle Day
  • Partnerships with Waconia community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Community Education,  and the Waconia Public Schools.
  • Promote the library and the joy of reading
 

Meetings

We have planning meetings four times a year.  They are typically held at 3:30 pm on the third Tuesday of the months of February, May, August and November. If things come up in between meetings, we communicate by email.

The Book Store is open year-round

You can come to our annual book sales or shop our Book Store in the corner of the Library when the Library has open hours.
